The Lebanese Army reported this Monday the location and subsequent deactivation of "a spying device of the Israeli occupation" in the Zebqín valley, in the southwest of the country, as part of a series of military operations "for engineering reconnaissance" carried out "due to the continuous Israeli attacks."
"As part of the engineering reconnaissance operations being carried out in the southern regions, due to the continuous Israeli attacks, a specialized military unit has found in the Zebqín valley (Tire) a spying device of the Israeli occupation, equipped with a solar power system, and has taken charge of dismantling it," the Army Command stated in a statement.
In the same note, the military command "urges citizens to stay away from suspicious objects and not to touch them, as well as to report their presence to the nearest military center, in order to ensure their safety."
Despite the June agreement that provided for a ceasefire and a gradual withdrawal from the south of the country, the Israeli Armed Forces have continued to be present and carrying out attacks in southern Lebanese territory, citing security reasons and the refusal of the Shiite militia party Hezbollah to hand over weapons as justification for their operations.
In this context, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) communicated on the night of this Monday that they "have opened fire" and "neutralized" two individuals "suspected of entering the security area (Lebanon under Israeli control) and approaching the forces."
Hours earlier, the IDF had reported the completion of a Special Operations mission to "eliminate threats against the State of Israel" in the Lebanese locality of Al Mansuri.
"During their operations, the forces have destroyed more than 600 terrorist infrastructures and, in cooperation with the Yahalom forces (special operations unit of the IDF Engineering Corps), have destroyed eight underground bunkers," the Army states in a statement.
In the same text, the Israeli Army claims that its forces "have located dozens of launchers that had remained in the security area before the entry into force of the ceasefire agreement."
In parallel, Israeli forces have developed another operation in the same area "in order to prevent Hezbollah from re-establishing" in Al Mansuri. "During the operation, the forces located and destroyed a Hezbollah underground route located inside a civilian home in the locality," adds the statement.
