The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has once again lashed out at the Democratic Party, which he accuses of trying to "steal" the primaries held in the state of California, and has insisted that the elections in the North American country are "as bad as, or worse than, in any third-world country."

Trump has disseminated his criticisms through his social media profiles, where he has denounced that "Look what is happening in California. The Democrats, before our eyes, are stealing the vote," before remarking that, in his opinion, the United States "has the most dishonest elections of any country, anywhere in the world."

In the same vein, the president has called for attention to the recount in the state: "Everyone look at California. Our electoral process is as bad as, or worse than, that of any third-world country. The biggest difference is that they count their votes much faster. They don't wait seven days to say who has won, manipulating the elections during each and every one of them," he stated, concluding that "Americans are ashamed that this happens."

California's electoral authorities have warned that the final count of the primaries on June 2 could be extended for several more days. So far, it has been confirmed that Democrat Xavier Becerra will compete in the gubernatorial elections scheduled for November, while Republican Steve Hilton --supported by Trump-- and Democrat Tom Steyer are vying for second place on the ballot.

In parallel, in the race for the Mayoralty of Los Angeles, the current councilwoman, Karen Bass, has also surpassed the necessary threshold to remain in contention and awaits the definition of the second candidacy that will accompany her to the polls. That position is currently being contested by presenter Spencer Pratt and councilwoman Nithya Raman.
