The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has this Saturday proposed to the top executive of the mixed martial arts promoter UFC, Dana White, that he take up the post of Press Secretary of the White House, additionally inviting him to attend accompanied by some of the fighters from this organization.

"I am pleased to announce that the position of Press Secretary of the United States has been offered to the great Dana White, a violent warrior," Trump explained in a message published on social media.

The tenant of the White House has also asked White "to bring some of his assistants, although some may not be from our country" and expressly cites the Russians Islam Majachev and Jabib Nurmagomedov, the Americans Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier and Kayla Harris, and the Brazilian Amanda Nunes.

"We need these people to defend ourselves from the Lunatic Left. Dana will be a press secretary like no other. Dana, please, ¡accept the position!" he concluded.

White, 57, is among the closest personal friends of Trump. Their relationship goes back more than twenty years, when the then businessman opened the doors of his casinos in Atlantic City to UFC events during a period in which the company had serious difficulties finding venues to hold its nights.

Since that time, he has remained a loyal ally of the Republican leader and has taken the floor in favor of the magnate at Republican Party conventions in 2016, 2020 and 2024. Likewise, he was present at the celebration events for Trump’s victory in the most recent presidential election.

Trump, for his part, is an enthusiastic follower of the UFC and regularly attends, often accompanied by White, at fight cards. In June, a UFC event was held at the White House itself to mark the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States. Despite this close rapport, to date White had not shown any interest in starting a political career.
