The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has indicated that he intends to put himself in the place of the "third-rate" artists who have decided to cancel their performance at the America250 festival, scheduled for next Wednesday on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the American Declaration of Independence.
In a message disseminated on his social networks, Trump indicated: "I have ordered my representatives to study if it is possible to hold a 'Make America Great Again' event next Wednesday in Washington D.C. At the same time and the same place and with only great patriots invited."
The Republican leader stated that he understands that "they are spooked" after what happened with his performance on Wednesday, "so I am thinking of bringing the number one attraction in the whole world, the man who draws bigger crowds than Elvis in his prime and does it without a guitar, the man who loves our country more than anyone else and the man who according to some is the best president in history, Donald J. Trump, to replace these well-paid 'third-rate' artists."
Trump also defended that "two years ago the United States was dead" and that "now it has the 'coolest' president in the whole world." "I don't want artists who charge too much and are not happy. I just want to be surrounded by happy people, smart people, successful people, and people who know how to win," he added in his message.
Among the performers who have withdrawn from participating are Martina McBride, Bret Michaels, Young MC, Morris Day or The Time and The Commodores, several of whom have denounced that the partisan nature of the event was hidden from them. For the moment, Vanilla Ice maintains his presence on the event's lineup.
