The Israeli Armed Forces announced this Saturday the death of three of their soldiers on Lebanese territory during the last 48 hours, in the context of the recent escalation of clashes between the Israeli Army and the Lebanese Shiite formation Hezbollah.

One of the deceased soldiers is Sergeant Yoav Klein, 21 years old, a native of Herzliya and part of the 52nd Armored Battalion, "fallen in combat in southern Lebanon" this Friday, according to the statement released by the Army.

In the same incident in which Klein lost his life, Lieutenant Colonel Dor Gedaliah Ben Simhon and two other uniformed personnel whose identities have not yet been disclosed also died.

Sergeant Nir Ben Ari, 21 years old and from Mekram Maharal, belonging to the Maglan Unit, Commando Formation, has also died. In the incident in which Ben Ari died this Saturday, two more soldiers were seriously injured, while an officer suffered moderate injuries.

"The soldiers have been evacuated to a hospital for medical attention and their families have already been notified," concludes the Israeli military statement.

The third deceased soldier is Sergeant Liav Kababia, 20 years old, who died in an attack on an Israeli tank on Lebanese territory recorded early Friday. In that same offensive, Lieutenant Colonel Dor Gedalia Ben Simhon and Yoav Klein lost their lives. A fourth soldier also died in this attack and his name is expected to be released shortly.
