The United States Army has ratified this Tuesday that it continues to operate with two aircraft carriers in the vicinity of the Persian Gulf, in the midst of talks with Iran to close a definitive agreement to end hostilities and finalize a nuclear pact.

"Two aircraft carriers continue to operate in the Middle East while United States forces remain deployed and on alert," the United States Armed Forces Central Command (CENTCOM) stated in a statement disseminated on social media, emphasizing that the military deployment remains active in the region.

In parallel, this same Tuesday the President of the United States, Donald Trump, explained that he has given instructions for the Strait of Hormuz to "remain open, without a naval blockade," although he pointed out that he will maintain the presence of warships in the area as an instrument of pressure in the context of talks with Tehran.

"All ships will remain in their positions in case it is necessary to re-establish the blockade, which at this moment seems highly improbable," the White House occupant stressed in his message, leaving the door open to an eventual hardening if negotiations fail.

Washington and Tehran have already taken the first steps to implement the preliminary agreement which contemplates the cessation of hostilities and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. As part of this understanding, both parties have agreed to establish a high-level committee that will "politically oversee the mediation" and to which the main negotiators will "periodically" report on progress.

According to the agreement, this body will "direct working groups focused on nuclear issues, sanctions, and a monitoring and dispute resolution group to ensure the effective implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding." The text also establishes that the United States must confirm the withdrawal of its forces from the vicinity of Iran "within 30 days of the signing of the final agreement," thus conditioning the military withdrawal to the formal closure of the pact.
