The national spokesperson for deregulation, energy, and economy of Vox, José María Figaredo, has strongly attacked the central Executive, which he has described as "criminal and corrupt," holding it responsible for having caused "deaths" by investing "less than ever" in the country's infrastructure. His statements come after the collision between a Renfe AVE and an Iryo in Los Yébenes (Toledo) this Wednesday, an accident that has left at least 68 dead.
From Madrid's Plaza de Cibeles, Figaredo has described the current Executive as "a government that has caused a second accident of brutal, never-before-seen magnitude" and has taken the opportunity to attack "le Ejecutivo por al frente de las instituciones".
In his appearance before the media, the Vox leader has underlined that "today we can only express our condolences and our total support to the relatives of the victims, to the injured and to all those affected by this brutal tragedy", emphasizing his "sadness", "rage" and "anger" over the rail accident, which takes place 9 months after the Adamuz derailment in which 46 people lost their lives.
Figaredo has also accused the Government of having "stolen from the Spaniards", "indebted Spain" and collected "more taxes than ever", ending with "the corruption of this Government kills".
In this context, the Vox spokesperson has called for the immediate resignation of the Executive and for its responsible parties to "place themselves at judicial disposal" in the face of a "situation" that he has described as "absolutely unsustainable".
