The general secretary of the PSPV-PSOE, Diana Morant, stated this Saturday that the Generalitat's budgets for 2026 constitute "the contract" of the head of the Consell, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, with Vox "to remain as 'president' of the Generalitat".
Morant made these statements before the "Ací Estem Pel Municipalisme" event, held in Dénia (Alicante), where the Council of Mayors was launched and the mayor of Petrer, Irene Navarro, was appointed president.
The socialist leader recalled that "three years of legislature of the PP and Vox" have already passed, during which, she stressed, there have been "five different governments, two presidents of the Generalitat, and three racist, xenophobic, and regressive budgets that do not represent Valencian society".
In this regard, she indicated that these accounts are "the contract that" the leader of Vox, Santiago Abascal, and his counterpart in the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, "closed to not call elections in the Valencian Community at a time of unprecedented political and institutional crisis".
According to Morant, the Valencian Community "will be the first where the national priority that Vox is imposing will be applied". In her opinion, Pérez Llorca's rise to the Presidency "has led to new crises": "We have encountered a housing crisis, a political scandal with the distribution of public housing to friends and family of the PP, a privatization of healthcare, and also the unprecedented crisis that has been generated in the educational community".
In relation to the latter, she emphasized that it is already "the third week of indefinite strike by the educational community and Mr. Pérez Llorca is neither present nor expected". "We were wondering where Pérez Llorca was, and he was sitting with Vox because that is all that interests him," criticized the leader of the PSPV, who also assured that, "while we socialists sit down with the Valencian Community, with society, Pérez Llorca only sits with Vox".
Morant also wanted to convey a "very clear message": "We have suffered three unbearable years, but there is only one year left for us to recover a Generalitat that is indeed dignified and that addresses what is important. What is important is housing, our children's education, the healthcare that we feel is collapsing".
Municipalist commitment and housing plan
Within the framework of "Ací Estem Pel Municipalisme", the secretary general of the PSPV-PSOE has highlighted that, together with mayors, the Socialist Party "will continue working for the citizens". "Just as with the mayors we have built schools with the Edificant Plan, we are also going to build housing," she announced.
In this context, Morant has specified that the goal is to build "40,000 affordable and social housing rental units during the next legislature" and has pointed out that this will be viable thanks to "the new financing system that provides nearly 3.7 billion to the Comunitat Valenciana and would allow one billion annually to be allocated to the construction of social housing".
"The mayors --she added-- together with the Generalitat are competent and the main problem of the citizens concerns us, and therefore, we are going to take the step of working on an ambitious housing policy to solve the main problem of the citizens, that is our priority."
In educational matters, Morant has insisted that another of the socialists' central lines will be "to continue building and improving schools", linking this commitment to the policies developed by the city councils and the Generalitat.
