The Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities and general secretary of the PSPV, Diana Morant, has criticized the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, for his visit this Saturday to the Valencian Community, stating that he "has come again to insult the victims of the DANA and the entire Valencian people" instead of "apologizing to them". "There will be a day when they will pay for this mistreatment," she predicted.

Morant expressed this to the media in Valencia, where she is participating this afternoon in the LGTBIQ Pride march, in response to Feijóo's statements at the Board of Directors of the PP of the province of Valencia, held in Sueca. There, among other issues, he referred to the flood on October 29, 2024, and lashed out at the Government for "the lack of respect, the lack of responsibility and the --political-- use of the DANA" against the Consell. "I will not forget it. It was unjust. They treated you unfairly," he said.

Faced with these accusations, the socialist leader replied that the Popular Party and the Consell "were informed that day, because we know, from the first moment by the state agencies and they only cared about controlling the narrative, saying many things to make it seem like 'we are working like hell', in the exact words of (former President of the Generalitat) Carlos Mazón."

According to her, "in his conversation with Feijóo, he also advised him the same, to make it seem like you are working a lot, but no one was taking care of the people whose lives were in danger, 230 dead, while the Consell and the Popular Party were at El Ventorro or, certainly, not taking responsibility for the people. It is a disgrace, it is unbearable," she reproached.

Criticism of Mazón and the leadership of the Valencian PP

In another vein, the minister stressed that the president of the PP "has not supported" the leader of the Valencian popular party and current president, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, nor "has Mr. Mazón come out to receive him." "What's happening? That Mr. Mazón bothers Mr. Feijóo. He is toxic for Mr. Feijóo. Was Mr. Mazón at the beach today too?" she ironized.

Morant has remarked that "well, they keep Mazón as a privileged person and as a deputy, with a salary, with a driver, with an office of president of the Generalitat, the Popular Party of Pérez de Llorca and Feijóo. And they have no forgiveness from God. We are not going to forgive them. We are not going to forget it. And they will pay for it. There will be a day when they will pay for this mistreatment, both to the victims of the dana and to all the Valencian people," he concluded.
