The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has demanded explanations from the PP leader, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, following the accusations of former ministerial adviser Koldo García, who said that the PP lawyer offered him one million euros in exchange for information against the Executive, as several media outlets have reported.

At the press conference after the XXX Ibero-American Summit held in Madrid, the head of the Executive emphasized that "in the face of such serious accusations Feijóo would have to give some explanation," in the same way that the 'populars' usually demand accountability from the Government when controversies arise.

Meanwhile, the PSOE is analyzing the possibility of taking legal action so that these facts can be clarified, according to socialist sources. García, former adviser to former Minister of Transport José Luis Ábalos, stated that it was agreed to pay for his defense and one million euros in exchange for information to "overthrow" Sánchez.

From the PP, party sources have said that it is "absolutely false," but within the Socialist ranks they believe that this response is insufficient and they are calling for Feijóo to speak directly and personally about what happened.

At Moncloa they recall that the PP demands explanations from the Government "every day," at the highest institutional level and repeatedly calling for resignations, so they understand that now it is up to the 'populars' to take on the same level of demand and provide an account of these accusations.

Within the Executive they argue that these are "very serious" accusations against the PP, since they point to the fact that the main opposition party, through third parties, would have been able to try to influence a person's judicial testimony with the aim of overthrowing the Government. "They will have to give some explanation," they insist from Sánchez's circle.
