The different aspirants to take charge of Nuevas Generaciones del PP have opted to merge into a single list for the XVI congress that the youth organization will hold on July 10 and 11 in Valladolid. That unity candidacy will be headed by Ignacio Dancausa, until now the highest responsible for NNGG in Madrid and politically close to the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso.
Ignacio Dancausa and Antonio Landáburu, leader of Nuevas Generaciones in Murcia, have managed to gather the endorsements required by the internal regulations —a minimum of 250 supports, of which at least 140 had to come from seven different autonomous communities— and have made public a joint statement in which they confirm that the Madrid leader will assume the presidency of the youth organization while the Murcian will occupy the vice-presidency.
"After both candidates have obtained the necessary endorsements to run for the XVI Congress of Nuevas Generaciones de España, we have decided to unite to build the best possible project," they state in the text disseminated through their social media profiles.
Endorsement Requirements and Agreement for a Single Candidacy
Dancausa and Landáburu have also shared a video with the PP deputy in the Valencian Courts Candela Anglés —who was also running for the presidency of NNGG— in which the three explain that they have decided to pool their "strength" for the July conclave.
The deadline to register endorsements ended on Wednesday, June 3. According to the Internal Regulations, to be proclaimed a candidate for the national presidency of Nuevas Generaciones, it is essential to "present the support of at least 250 members." "Said endorsements must come, at least 140 of them, from seven different autonomous communities, in a number that must not be less than 20 endorsements in each of them," the rule details.
The congress organizing committee meets this June 4 to proceed with the official proclamation of candidacies, although the aspirants have finally closed a pact that will allow them to compete in the Valladolid conclave with a single consensus list.
