The spokesperson for the CUP, Su Moreno, has held the Govern responsible for "violating basic rights" because of the broad police deployment organized this Saturday in Barcelona and in other Catalan localities in view of the different calls by the group 'Blocus' and the risk of disturbances, an operation that ended with 2,264 people identified.
In a press conference this Monday, she censured that there was a "militarization" of public space, for which she has demanded explanations immediately and the appearance in the Parlament of the councillor of Interior and Public Safety, Núria Parlon, as detailed by the formation in a statement.
The CUP maintains that the identifications of young people were carried out in an intimidating manner and with a "racial bias".
"The calls of the last few days cannot be the excuse for the Govern of the PSC to apply a massive and indiscriminate cut in rights," Moreno emphasized.
The party demands clarifications about "the actions of the Mossos d'Esquadra, the publication of videos of the arrests of minors and the request for data from educational centers", and warns of what it interprets as a social control agenda prior to the general strike called for November 11.
Rail system in Catalunya
As for the railway system in Catalunya, the CUP describes the current scenario as unsustainable and takes aim at the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, whom it reproaches for focusing on "high-speed between Barcelona and Madrid while Rodalies has accumulated months of lack of control and thousands of affected people".
"During all the months of lack of control of Rodalies, Puente has buried his head and has not given any kind of explanation," Moreno pointed out, who reiterated the demand that the management of Rodalies be transferred in full to the Generalitat.
