The spokesperson for the Popular Group in Congress, Ester Muñoz, has defended the PP as the option for a "national reconstruction" after the general elections on November 29, positioning it as an alternative to the PSOE, which she has described as the party "of saunas, sewers, and jewels".
In statements to the media during her visit to the Products Fair in León, Muñoz emphasized that the upcoming election is a "great opportunity" that citizens "cannot miss" for "Spain to have a future ahead" without an Executive led by Pedro Sánchez, whom she has accused of "never telling the truth".
The 'popular' leader has insisted that, in light of the upcoming elections, the PP claims the "effort and sacrifice" of the citizens, and has reproached the left for, in her opinion, being unaware of what these values mean.
"People do not have problems with sacrifice, what they do not want is for others to live off their sacrifice," she has pointed out, disconnecting that "sacrifice" to which the PP appeals in this pre-campaign from any policy of cuts.
In this line, she has accused the left of having "lived off the effort of the people for eight years" and of having worsened their standard of living, assuring that now "it is more difficult" to access the purchase or rental of a home and "to make ends meet". "We are not condemned to be working poor," she has stated, before warning that there are people who, despite working, require "public assistance because they cannot live off the effort of their work".
Muñoz has added that the business owners with whom she has spoken at the León fair have asked her for a tax cut in light of the difficulties their businesses are facing, and has lamented that "never before have Spaniards paid more taxes and had worse public services".
For this reason, she has held the central Government responsible for "squeezing taxes" and allocating funds to "kickbacks from contracts" and to the hiring of "lovers for ministers", examples that, in her opinion, demonstrate a "moral abyss" in the left.
Finally, when asked whether she will head the list for Congress for León again, she did not clarify the uncertainty about her candidacy, although she made her intention to continue clear: "The greatest pride and the greatest honor of my life has been to represent the people of León".
