Vox has held the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, responsible for the violent incidents recorded on the evening of this Saturday in the Plaza de Cataluña in Barcelona, linking these disturbances with the protests taking place in France and Italy. The party claims that "Sánchez has brought the chaos and violence that reigns in France and Italy."

In a message disseminated on the social network X, the party led by Santiago Abascal has released a video showing some of the disturbances in the area and has emphasized its slogan "O VOX or chaos."

According to police sources reported to Europa Press, the Mossos d'Esquadra have made several arrests related to the disturbances, which originated from an unauthorized gathering called through social networks in the Plaza de Cataluña and its surroundings. During the incidents, containers and various urban furniture were burned, although the total number of arrested has not been specified.

In light of the escalation of tension, the Mossos have proceeded to evacuate customers and workers from several businesses in the area through the metro accesses, who had taken refuge inside the establishments to protect themselves from the disturbances.

By around 21:45, there were no active fires in elements of urban furniture, although there had been damage and looting in store windows, bus shelters, trash cans, and some traffic lights. Numerous motorcycles and bicycles could also be seen lying on the ground or burned in barricades improvised by the activists.

At that same hour, several vans of the Mossos continued to perimeter the Plaza de Cataluña, while some groups of activists remained on site, increasingly dispersed.
