We have hailed the triumph of the Democratic Party in the midterm elections in the United States and have again called for social mobilization to “force changes,” warning that “voting is not enough” to put an end to “wars, genocide, inequality, or the privileges of the 1%.”
Through a message on the social network X, the ‘purple’ candidate for the elections on November 29, Irene Montero, has stated that this Wednesday is “a good day for humanity” because “the United States has said enough to Trump.”
Despite the favorable result for the Democrats, Montero has emphasized that “voting is not enough” and has highlighted the need to “force changes,” warning that otherwise “Trump will have won anyway.”
Along the same lines, the general secretary of Podemos, Ione Belarra, has expressed herself in statements to the media after attending a demonstration called on the occasion of the education strike. “There are reasons for hope,” she has defended.
Belarra interprets the Democratic victory as proof that “when radical proposals are made that go to the root of the problems” and an attempt is made to respond to a system “rotted,” which “puts business ahead of people’s lives,” citizens “respond and mobilize.” “So we’ll go ahead and with a lot of force,” she concluded.
