Shortly after 8:00 AM, Prado del Rey suffered a power outage that left TVE off the air. The interruption affected the program La hora de La 1 and also the Canal 24 horas. After approximately 20 minutes without broadcasting, the presenter Silvia Intxaurrondo explained to viewers what had happened and assured that the team had suffered "a power outage of a nature we do not know," with no further details offered at that time about the origin of the incident.

Intxaurrondo also thanked "all colleagues at RTVE" for managing to get "La hora de La 1 back on air in record time."

An automatic switch

The incident led to a number of speculations about what had happened, until, from RTVE, as pointed out by Cadena SER, they indicated that the explanation is simple: an automatic switch tripped.

Sources from the corporation have informed the aforementioned broadcaster that it had been having problems since the previous day, that there is a problem within the uninterruptible power supply system, and that they must change that 'automatic switch'.

During the approximately 20 minutes in which TVE was off the air, a musical sting was shown on screen, with the TVE logo and promotional spots.
