Four councils of the Principality of Asturias will register a "very high" risk of forest fire this Sunday, June 21, according to the forecasts of the Institute of Natural Resources and Land Management (Indurot).
The municipalities affected by this alert level are Avilés, Corvera, Gozón, and Gijón. In the rest of the Asturian territory, the risk of fire will remain at a "high" level, according to the same body.
This risk assessment is prepared from the meteorological forecasts of the State Meteorological Agency, along with the analysis of the temporal and spatial recurrence of forest fires. The classification system establishes five degrees of municipal risk, ranging from "low" to "extreme".
