The Ministry of Livestock has launched a new call for subsidies for a maximum amount of 639,389 euros aimed at owners of livestock farms who carry out diagnostic tests, vaccination campaigns and other health actions within the official programs for the prevention, control and eradication of animal diseases during the 2026 fiscal year.

Owners of farms that have taken part in the livestock health campaign through the intervention of veterinarians authorized in accordance with regional regulations, as well as those who have carried out vaccinations against bluetongue in its serotypes 3, 4 and 8, or against epizootic hemorrhagic disease during 2025, will be able to access these aids.

The order contemplates both actions linked to the health campaign, carried out between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026, and vaccinations carried out within the periods set for each pathology.

In the specific case of the livestock health campaign, the deadline for registering applications will be thirty working days from the publication of the extract for actions already executed and, for those carried out later, thirty working days from the end of the campaign, the regional Executive has reported.

Regarding aid linked to vaccinations, the period for submitting requests will be thirty working days from the publication of the call.

The regional minister, María Jesús Susinos, has stressed that prevention is essential to protect farms against emerging diseases and guarantee the sanitary quality of the livestock herd, "which directly affects the profitability of the farms."

"With these aids, we support the economic effort made by livestock farmers to comply with official health programs, ensuring that Cantabria continues to be a benchmark in health control and food safety," she added.

Likewise, she highlighted that vaccination against diseases such as bluetongue or epizootic hemorrhagic disease is key in the current health context, and these aids represent "direct support" to continue advancing in their control and eradication.

Applications must be addressed to the General Directorate responsible for Livestock and submitted through the General Electronic Registry of the Government of Cantabria or through the channels provided for in current regulations.
