The Ministry of Rural Development has made a payment of nearly 6 million euros this Friday in direct aid for the primary sector and, in parallel, has processed the application for funds linked to aid for areas with natural limitations (ZLN) for a total of 5.19 million euros, which represents the joint mobilization of 11 million euros in a single day.
Within this new payment order is the payment of the remaining 10% of the Basic Aid for Sustainability Income (ABRS), which will reach 3,834 recipients for an amount of 1,741,081 euros, raising the accumulated amount in this concept to 15,191,781 euros.
Similarly, the final 10% of the redistributive payment will be made effective for 3,815 beneficiaries, with an amount of 501,844 euros, bringing the total granted in this line to 4,292,360 euros.
Regarding eco-schemes, the regional Executive will complete the final 30% corresponding to crop rotation, which will reach 322 beneficiaries with 97,930 euros, thus reaching a total volume of 314,993 euros. The pending 30% of the sustainable mowing eco-scheme will also be paid, benefiting 125 holders with 20,850 euros, adding an accumulated total of 62,486 euros.
With respect to the extensive grazing eco-scheme, the one with the greatest economic weight, the final 40% will be paid for 3,770 beneficiaries, for an amount of 3,501,992 euros, bringing the total for this measure to 6,398,899 euros. Overall, Cantabria has allocated 6,900,776 euros to the different eco-schemes.
The global volume paid in direct aid per surface area charged to the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EAGF) now amounts to 28,240,348 euros.
The minister of the sector, María Jesús Susinos, has stressed that this new payment "demonstrates the firm commitment of the Government of Cantabria to our farmers and ranchers, guaranteeing liquidity and stability in a context of uncertainty."
In the same vein, she has highlighted that CAP aid is "a key tool for sustaining agricultural activity, incentivizing more sustainable practices, and ensuring generational renewal in the countryside."
Likewise, he has pointed out that "Cantabria is meeting deadlines and facilitating the agile and effective arrival of funds to those who truly need them", and has added that the commitment to eco-schemes reflects "the commitment of our professionals to a more environmentally friendly agricultural model, while improving its competitiveness".
