The councilor of Rural Environment, María José Gómez, highlighted the potential of the gardening sector in Galicia during the XXIII Festa do Pemento de Mougán.
According to a press release from the Galician Government, the regional head attended this gastronomic event dedicated to the pimiento de Mougán this Saturday, which has the support of the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI).
In her speech, the councilor detailed that in the Community there are eight PGIs of plant origin products, of which five are directly linked to the production of peppers.
Furthermore, she emphasized that her department promotes this type of production and that, in the current year, more than 10 million euros are allocated to the Plan Saborea Galicia Calidade Diferenciada, that is, two million more than in 2025.
