The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has published today in the Official State Bulletin (BOE) the call for grants aimed at promoting the consolidation of professional organizations linked to fishing and aquaculture products, with a total budget of 200,000 euros planned for 2026.
According to a statement from the Department headed by Luis Planas, these aids, co-financed by the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (FEMPA), aim to strengthen the organizational structure of producer organizations, their associations, and the officially recognized interprofessional fishing organizations in the last five years.
The call establishes that each beneficiary entity may receive a grant of up to a maximum of 100,000 euros under the competitive bidding regime. Of this amount, FEMPA will cover a maximum of 70%, while the remaining 30% will correspond to national funding.
The Ministry has emphasized that the call is of "special relevance" this year due to the recent recognition of a state-managed artisanal fishing producers' organization, "a milestone that reflects the diversification and evolution of the sector and opens the door to new organizational structures of smaller size."
In this regard, the Department considers that these aids are "especially useful" for smaller organizations to start their activity with a solid foundation, ensure a stable structure for their operations, and face their first years of operation with greater guarantees.
Organizations interested in accessing these aids must process their applications through the electronic headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
