The Minister of Rural Affairs, María José Gómez, has reiterated the support of the Xunta for the Galician poultry sector, citing as an example the contributions aimed at the transformation and marketing of agricultural products, whose budget has increased to 23 million euros.

These statements were made during a visit to the facilities of the brand "El huevo de la abuela," belonging to the company Ecocentro, dedicated to the production of free-range chicken eggs in Melide, which benefited from these aids with a contribution close to one million euros to promote various projects.

Gómez has emphasized that the financial allocation for this line was reinforced to reach 23 million euros with a horizon of 2028, compared to the almost 19 million initially planned.

In addition, she explained that this year's call was structured for the first time into two subsidizable lines: one aimed at supporting contributions that increase the added value of agricultural productions, whose budget was raised to 15 million euros; and another, of a novel nature, aimed at investments for environmental purposes, endowed with 7.9 million euros.

During the visit, the minister highlighted Ecocentro's commitment to technological innovation and the differentiation of its high-quality references, with free-range eggs marketed under the brand "El Huevo de la Abuela," which is establishing itself as one of the main Galician companies dedicated to the production of free-range eggs in Galicia.
