There is a reality that no longer admits discussion: the structural divestment of the State in Catalonia. It is not a perception, it is a fact that citizens suffer every day. Rodalies collapsed, strategic projects like Sagrera accumulating delays, saturated roads like the N260, the AP7 or the A2 and deficient connections that slow down economic development.

We are not talking about a specific problem. We are talking about decades of unfulfilled promises and budgets that, too often, are not even executed. But the problem is not only how much is invested, but how it is decided. For years, priorities have been set from distant offices, without sufficient knowledge of the territory. And thus, the decisions do not respond to the real needs of the country. Faced with this situation, there are two ways to do politics.

The one from Esquerra Republicana is clear: to build. To think about the country as a whole, not about blocking or easy headlines. To work to put solutions on the table and generate useful tools that improve citizens' lives. We do not resign ourselves nor do we settle into permanent complaining. We act.

We are talking about more decision-making capacity, better governance, and real execution

That is why we have promoted the Consorci de inversiones de Catalunya. A concrete tool to change things: to plan better, to ensure that what is approved is executed, and so that the Generalitat has real participation in decisions that directly affect people's daily lives.

We talk about more decision-making capacity, better governance, and real execution. About deciding from home and not from outside. About moving from promises to actions.

Does it solve everything? No. The ultimate goal remains full fiscal sovereignty. But progress is not made with empty speeches, but with concrete steps. And this is a necessary step to gain capacity, to unlock investments, and to improve the lives of the majority of society. Faced with this proposal, we have encountered the usual: "no".

A "no" without alternative, without proposal and without will to build. But the most serious thing is not just the lack of proposals. It is that this constant "no" ends up blocking and destroying solutions that could benefit the entire country.

Voting against the Investment Consortium is not voting against a party's initiative. It is going against deciding resources, against the execution of budgets, and against opportunities for citizens.

Catalonia cannot afford more blocking or more trench warfare

While Esquerra works for more investment, more decision-making power, and better living conditions, Junts limits itself to vetoing. And with vetoes, the country does not advance. To veto the Consortium is to take resources away from the Generalitat, it is to veto the country's progress

Catalonia cannot afford more blockades or more trench warfare politics. The citizenry cannot keep waiting while infrastructures degrade and opportunities are lost.

Doing politics is assuming responsibilities. It is taking advantage of every opportunity to move forward. It is thinking about those who take the train every day, about the small business that needs good connections, about the young people who want to build their future without leaving.

The difference is clear. There are those who settle into the “no” and in permanent anger. And there are those of us who work, propose, and build. Because politics is about always being there. It's about making things happen.
