The investigation by the Audiencia Nacional into former socialist militant Leire Díez incorporates a series of audios in which the investigated person describes alleged actions aimed at "cleaning up institutions".

"I am not here for anything other than to clean," she even tells Francisco Martínez, the former number 'two' at the Ministry of the Interior under the Partido Popular.

From these recordings, conversations with civil guards, politicians, and businessmen emerge, with which the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Guardia Civil supports its thesis about a supposed network dedicated to hindering judicial investigations that could affect the PSOE or the Government.

Meetings with Francisco Martínez

In one of the meetings, held with former Secretary of State for Security Francisco Martínez, the former socialist militant raises the need to "clean up institutions" and argues that different actors could mutually assist each other in that process.

"Obviously, the intention of all this is to clean. I am not here for anything other than to clean. We cannot have people like that in institutions, because today it's you, tomorrow it will be someone else, and if we don't put a leash on them, we will be making a mistake."

In another fragment, Díez insists on the need to "reach an agreement" with him and raises the need to "choose the right side of history" to "unravel" the situation.

"But Paco, I need us to get on the right side of history. And now you have to decide what the right side of history is. Help unravel all this or let it continue to get more complicated."

Contacts with former UCO agents and businessmen

The case file also includes meetings with Captain Juan Sánchez Yepes, businessman Javier Pérez Dolset, and other investigated individuals, in which the situation of commanders of the Guardia Civil and the Central Operational Unit (UCO) is discussed.

In one of these conversations, Díez states that her "next conversation" would be with the Director General of the Guardia Civil, whom she describes as a "person of her trust," and mentions various actions related to commanders of the unit.

References to the UCO and Antonio Balas

In another of the audios incorporated into the proceedings, references are made to Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Balas, of the UCO, whom the former militant describes as a "hangman" who acts as a "jailer" for certain individuals, pointing out that, in her opinion, "this type of structure must be dismantled".

These expressions appear in a February 2025 conversation involving businessman Alejandro Hamlyn, under investigation for hydrocarbon fraud, businessman Javier Pérez Dolset, and lawyer Jacobo Teijelo, all of them linked to the case investigating an alleged influence scheme in judicial processes.
