A Ryanair Boeing 737 that covered the route between Pisa (Italy) and Málaga had to divert this Saturday to Barcelona-El Prat airport due to a medical emergency on board.
The change of course was motivated by the need to attend to a passenger during the flight and not due to a breakdown or a technical problem with the plane.
The flight modifies its route to Barcelona
The aircraft, which had its final destination at Málaga-Costa del Sol airport, changed its trajectory and landed in Barcelona to facilitate medical assistance to the passenger.
After the intervention, the flight was able to continue its journey to Málaga, although the incident caused a disruption in the planned itinerary.
Ryanair regularly operates the direct connection between Pisa and Málaga during the summer season.
The diversion occurred, therefore, due to a matter related to the health of a passenger and was not related to a mechanical failure of the Boeing 737.
