The American actress Carla Jeffery, known for playing Bree in the "Zombies" saga of Disney Channel, has died at the age of 33.

Her representation agency, Alexanders Talent Management, confirmed that the performer died on September 1, although it has not made the cause of death public.

Jeffery had worked for more than two decades with the same representation company and became one of the recognizable faces of Disney's youth productions thanks to her role as Bree.

Her role in 'Zombies'

The actress played the cheerleader Bree, friend of Addison, in the first "Zombies" movie, released in 2018.

She later reprised the character in "Zombies 2" and "Zombies 3", in addition to voicing her in the animated series derived from the franchise.

Her career, however, had begun much earlier. Jeffery debuted as an actress when she was 12 years old, with a role in the movie "Phat Girlz", and later participated in numerous television series.

Among her works are appearances in "iCarly", "Good Luck Charlie", "Shake It Up!", "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend", "American Vandal" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm". In the latter, she played Keysha Black for several episodes.

Disney and her colleagues bid farewell to the actress

Disney Entertainment Television has also publicly mourned her death and highlighted the bond that the actress had created with several generations of viewers.

After the news broke, colleagues from the "Zombies" saga and other performers she had worked with have posted farewell messages on social media.

Jeffery was born in Houston, Texas, and was the twin sister of fellow actor Carlon Jeffery, known for his role in "A.N.T. Farm".

Her agency has requested privacy for the family and her close circle and has not provided details about the circumstances of her death.
