Enrique Riquelme, candidate for the presidency of Real Madrid, has announced the incorporation of Iker Casillas to his project, where the former goalkeeper of the white team will have a prominent role within the club's structure in case of electoral victory. According to an official statement, Casillas thus joins a team that also includes Raúl González and Fernando Hierro, two historic former captains of the team.

In this way, Riquelme's plan contemplates Raúl serving as sporting director and Hierro taking over the management of the youth academy, while Casillas would be integrated into a top-level corporate role, with functions yet to be specified within the organizational chart.

The candidate has argued that his proposal seeks to "reinforce a model that places the great legends at the heart of the club's strategic decisions," betting on management closer to former players and members.

Riquelme has also insisted on his intention to promote profound changes in the governance of Real Madrid, with measures aimed at greater transparency, internal control, and member participation in decision-making.

Among his proposals, the defense of the club's traditional model as an entity owned by its members also stands out, ruling out the entry of external capital. Likewise, he proposes initiatives such as the reduction of fees for certain groups, the creation of more transparent waiting lists for season tickets, and the development of new spaces for the social mass at the Valdebebas Sports City.
