The president of the Catalan Generalitat, Salvador Illa, reiterated this Wednesday his support for the Government's actions in public health matters in the face of the docking in the Canary Islands of the cruise ship carrying people infected with hantavirus. "We must not be afraid, we must always act hand in hand with science to resolve these situations."

In a press conference in Vic (Barcelona), the Catalan leader, who was Minister of Health during the Covid-19 pandemic, has stressed that he knows in detail the functioning of the Coordination Center for Health Alerts and Emergencies (CCAES) and the public health system, which leads him to convey a message "of serenity, of confidence, and of support for the decisions being made to resolve this situation".

Illa has added that the Government maintains communication with the 5 Catalans who are on board the cruise ship, who are "in good health" and in good condition, as he has specified.
