The new television channel La Séptima has already defined its first programming schedule ahead of the start of its broadcasts, scheduled for November 5. The channel, driven by José Miguel Contreras, will focus on an offer centered on current affairs and analysis, with Javier Ruiz, Verónica Sanz, Sarah Santaolalla, Rocío Delgado, and Noor Ben Yessef as the main faces from Monday to Friday.
The premiere will come just over three weeks before the general elections on November 29, a circumstance that has conditioned the organization of the spaces. The channel has reserved prime time for Javier Ruiz, who will also serve as editorial director, while Verónica Sanz will host the morning program.
The programming also includes humor, entertainment, and movie spaces during the weekends. Although the main programs and their broadcasting slots are already known, not all schedules have been finalized yet.
Javier Ruiz, Sarah Santaolalla, and Verónica Sanz, the main bets
The mornings of La Séptima will begin with "El Pulso," presented by Verónica Sanz. The space will be dedicated to following current news, with special attention to political and social events, live connections, and analysis of the main news.
Next will be "En línea… con Sarah Santaolalla", the program with which the political analyst will take on the presentation of her own space. The channel has chosen the post-lunch time for this proposal, a slot in which it will compete with the informative and entertainment formats of other televisions.
The afternoon will be divided between two programs. First, Rocío Delgado will host "Sobre la mesa", while Noor Ben Yessef will present "La Diana" in the final segment of the day.
The prime time will be reserved for "La última hora," with Javier Ruiz. The journalist will be responsible for closing the news day with a space dedicated to analysis and the balance of current affairs.
This distribution represents a change from the channel's initial plans, which considered Noor Ben Yessef for the nighttime slot. The call for general elections has led La Séptima to modify its strategy for the weeks leading up to 29N.

Luján Argüelles, Quequé and Alba Carrillo, protagonists of the weekend
La Séptima has also designed a specific programming for Saturdays and Sundays, with greater presence of entertainment, humor and cinema.
Luján Argüelles will present "Fin de semana", the space responsible for opening the mornings. In the after-lunch slot, Héctor de Miguel, known as Quequé, will take over with "La comedia nacional", a format that will incorporate political satire into the channel's offering.
In the afternoons, "Fuera de control," presented by Alba Carrillo and Marta Márquez, another of the programs announced during the presentation of the television project, will arrive.
Saturday night will be dedicated to cinema. The channel is preparing a space inspired by the historic program "La clave", in which different television figures will introduce the films and address issues related to their themes.
The forecast is that the films will be broadcast without advertising interruptions and that the space will not have a fixed presenter, but rather different faces linked to the channel.
A new television in the midst of the 29N campaign
The arrival of La Séptima on digital terrestrial television is scheduled for Thursday, November 5, when there will be 24 days left until the general elections. Its arrival will coincide with a period of intense political activity and with the preparations for the electoral debates among the main candidates for the Presidency of the Government.
The electoral call has conditioned the preparations of the channel and has caused changes in the distribution of its programs, especially in the nighttime slot, where Javier Ruiz will assume the informational lead.
The project driven by José Miguel Contreras seeks to develop a generalist television model based on current events, conversation, and the explanation of news, combining live information with analysis spaces, interviews, and entertainment.
The network will also have a team of reporters to cover current events on the ground and reinforce its informational spaces.
