The bet of La Séptima to compete with Ana Rosa, Susanna Griso, Cintora, Ferreras, or Nacho Abad will be called El Pulso and will start broadcasting on November 5. Its presenter, Verónica Sanz, has announced the keys to this new morning show, which will make Javier Ruiz move to the nighttime slot.
Sanz, who in the promotional video humorously acknowledges that she had sworn never to wake up early again, explained that the chosen name for the space responds to the changing rhythm of current events, which can accelerate and take a turn at any moment. With El Pulso, she pointed out, live broadcasting will begin on La Séptima, where "a battalion of reporters will be where the news is," which will be "more than the headline," because they will not only report the news, but they will explain it.
To do this, she added, they will surround themselves with the "best analysts." Although Sanz -who was the presenter of the I Edition of the Demócrata Awards last February- has not revealed any of the names of those collaborators, just a few days ago the network already put the first eight on the table, who will be Elena Reinés, Albanta San Román, Hugo Pereira, Lucía de la Riva, Marta Nebot, Ana Pardo de Vera, José María Garrido, and Euprepio Padula.
"Progressive outlook"
The official presentation took place on September 7 at the FesTVal in Vitoria and served to bring together for the first time in front of the public the nine presenters who will lead the main spaces of the network. The channel, driven by José Miguel Contreras, will have Javier Ruiz, Rocío Delgado, Alba Carrillo, Marta Márquez, Héctor de Miguel, known as "Quequé", Luján Argüelles, Sarah Santaolalla, Noor Ben Yessef, and Verónica Sanz at the forefront of its programming.
At this event, they defined themselves as a project with a "progressive outlook," although their leaders stated that they aspire to reach viewers with other political sensitivities as well. The network thus proposes a generalist offering that combines information and entertainment without limiting its audience to a single ideological profile.
Javier Ruiz will assume editorial direction and will have daily presence on screen. During the presentation, he defended that the goal is not to become "the reds on duty," but to incorporate more voices and expand the issues that are part of the public conversation.
The live broadcast will be one of the axes of the programming of La Séptima. Contreras and Ruiz explained that current events will determine a good part of the content, with an approach that is not limited to narrating the events, but also tries to explain their causes and possible consequences.
