Héctor de Miguel, also known as Quequé, returns to the media with La Séptima. The new TDT channel announced this Friday his signing to strengthen the humor part of a programming that will begin to air on November 5.
The communicator thus returns approximately seven months after temporarily leaving the media front line. On January 25, he announced that he was leaving Hora Veintipico, the satirical program he directed and presented on Cadena SER, after acknowledging that he needed to stop and rest.
La Séptima signs Quequé for its bet on humor
The channel has communicated the incorporation through a video in which De Miguel presents himself as a representative of comedy within the project.
The announcement plays precisely with the name by which the comedian has been known for years. "But wasn't this guy called Quequé?", several participants in the piece broadcast by the channel ask.
In the video, other comedians appear such as Eva Soriano, Valeria Ros, Florentino Fernández, J.J. Vaquero, Agustín Jiménez, Patricia Espejo, Marina Lobo, and Ignatius Farray, among others.
La Séptima has not yet detailed what program Héctor de Miguel will present or in what time slot it will air. The announcement currently limits his role to the humorous aspect of the new channel.
The return of Héctor de Miguel after leaving 'Hora Veintipico'
De Miguel decided to temporarily step away from the media at the end of January. His departure also meant leaving Hora Veintipico, the satirical news program of SER that he had presented for the last few years.
The decision came after a controversy related to a parody about journalist Nacho Abad, although the comedian himself explained at the time that the weariness had been building up and that the recent events had precipitated a decision he had been contemplating for some time.
His signing by La Séptima thus represents his return to a stable project on television.
De Miguel's television career includes shows such as Noche Hache, El club de la comedia, LocoMundo, Late Motiv, La Resistencia, or Órbita Laika. He has also developed a good part of his career in radio, stand-up, and theater.
La Séptima will begin broadcasting on November 5
The new channel is scheduled to officially start its broadcasts on DTT on Thursday, November 5, 2026. The project is driven by the consortium Integrated Television Entertainment Services (SIETE) and has José Miguel Contreras as one of its main responsible persons.
The programming will be structured around current events, with different blocks throughout the day dedicated to information, analysis, and entertainment.
The channel continues meanwhile making its first faces public.
The signings announced by La Séptima
The first was Javier Ruiz, who left Mañaneros 360 at RTVE this August. The channel has not yet officially specified what his specific role will be.
Then came Rocío Delgado, for whom a daily program has been announced.
La Séptima later confirmed the incorporation of Alba Carrillo and Marta Márquez, who will be in charge of Fuera de control.
Héctor de Miguel now becomes the next incorporation announced by the channel, although it is still pending to know the format with which he will return to television.
