The Minister of Territorial Policy and 'single command' of the Government in Ceuta, Ángel Víctor Torres, has denounced from Congress the recent attacks against Muslim citizens of the autonomous city, migrant people, Red Cross volunteers, as well as against journalists and political leaders. In his speech, he has called on PP and Vox to join a "clear message of no to violence," although in his initial presentation he did not refer to the aggression suffered by four soldiers in the Benzú neighborhood.
Torres has expressed himself in these terms during his appearance before the Joint Commission (Congress and Senate) of National Security, which he attended at his own request after assuming the single command of the Government almost a month after the massive entry of migrants into Ceuta.
In his first intervention, he reviewed the measures promoted by the Executive during this period, emphasizing that the Government of Pedro Sánchez carried out various actions that facilitated the return of a significant portion of the migrant people to Morocco.
After meeting this Wednesday with the president of the city, Juan Vivas, the minister has thanked the Ceuta leader for adhering to the message of "no violence" and has reiterated the condemnation of the assaults recorded in recent days.
