Indra has presented new 360º vision glasses designed for military vehicle crew members to know what is happening outside the armored vehicle without the need to lean out. The system, called "See-Through," receives images captured by cameras installed in the vehicle and transfers them to the military's field of vision.
The Spanish company has showcased this technology at Eurosatory, one of the main international defense fairs. The idea is for soldiers to have an immersive view of the environment from inside the vehicle and to access additional information about what is happening around them.
The glasses are part of Indra's developments in 360º vision systems for military vehicles and are integrated into a technological line that the company had previously presented to reinforce the protection and effectiveness of the crew members.
See the outside from inside the vehicle
The operation is based on a set of cameras and sensors located on the outside of the combat vehicle. These devices capture images of the environment and transmit them to the system that the crew member uses through the glasses.
In this way, the military can receive a representation of the space surrounding the armored vehicle without solely depending on windows, hatches, or traditional observation systems. Indra describes this capability as a way to allow crew members to "see through" the vehicle by transferring the visual information collected by external sensors to the inside.
The technology is not limited to showing the images captured by the cameras. The system can continuously analyze the environment and present relevant information to the crew member. Among the applications highlighted by Indra is the possibility to identify threats, locate vehicles, or indicate routes, with the aim of improving situational awareness and facilitating decision-making.
This capability is particularly relevant in complex scenarios, such as urban environments, where visibility from inside an armored vehicle can be conditioned by buildings, obstacles, and the need to protect the crew members.
An evolution of 360º vision for military vehicles
The "See-Through" glasses are a new application of the 360º vision systems developed by Indra for combat vehicles. The company had already presented this technology as part of its work to improve the information available for crews.
One of the areas in which this capability has been developed is the 8x8 Dragón wheeled combat vehicle. The systems allow for gathering information from different sensors and providing a joint view of the space surrounding the vehicle.
With the new glasses, that information can be transferred directly to the soldier's field of vision. The goal is for the crew member to observe and analyze the environment from inside the armored vehicle, while maintaining the protection provided by the vehicle.
The presentation at Eurosatory
Indra showcased this technology during Eurosatory 2026, held in Paris, as part of its catalog of systems intended for the next generation of ground combat vehicles. The presentation of the glasses is part of a broader strategy by the company in the field of land defense, where the combination of sensors, data processing, and artificial intelligence is taking on an increasing role.
The 360º vision technology from Indra precisely aims to gather the information obtained around the vehicle and make it available to its crew members through new systems, including these glasses that allow bringing the image of the outside directly before the soldier's eyes.
