The online training institution based in Burgos also revalidates its leadership position among Spanish universities
The Universidad Isabel I is among the 10 most innovative universities in Ibero-America in online training according to the Ranking Educativo Innovatec 2026, which places it in tenth place among the 35 international institutions analyzed. The Burgos university thus maintains its presence among the top 10 of the report and consolidates itself as one of the best Spanish institutions in distance university education.
When observing the Spanish universities analyzed in the ranking, UI1 makes the podium and ranks among the best institutions in Spain, obtaining second place, repeating the result obtained in previous editions and thus reinforcing its recognition in the field of educational innovation.
UI1 passes in 20 quality indicators
The Innovatec educational ranking focuses on the quality of online education of Spanish-speaking universities based on 20 indicators related to aspects such as innovation applied to methodology, the quality of the academic proposal, the social commitment of the institution, attention to students, and learning tools and resources.
Universidad Isabel I has obtained a notable rating in the set of these indicators, which has allowed it to position itself among the 10 most innovative international universities, out of the 35 participants in the classification that includes Spanish institutions, but also from countries like Mexico, Ecuador, or Colombia.
Alberto Gómez Barahona, rector of Universidad Isabel I, has expressed satisfaction with the recognition: "Revalidating our position in the top 10 among the most innovative Ibero-American universities and maintaining ourselves as the 2nd most innovative university in Spain shows us that we are moving in the right direction: that innovation, beyond the online scenario and educational tools, is also about making decisions putting the student at the center".
An international recognition
The recognition from Innovatec internationally endorses the online educational model offered by Universidad Isabel I, with a methodology that combines online training with personalized support and direct interaction with the teaching team.
The award ceremony will take place next November at the headquarters of ECOTEC University in Ecuador, as part of the International Innovatec Meeting, which will bring together 500 leaders and professionals from the Ibero-American educational sector.
