Air Canada has confirmed that it will maintain its connections from Montreal to Tenerife, Lima (Peru), and Guatemala City throughout 2027, after these routes were initially announced only for the winter season. The company communicated this on the occasion of the presentation of its summer program for next year, which includes five new international destinations and seven additional routes.
From Toronto, its main hub, the airline plans to launch summer links with Oslo (Norway), Shannon (Ireland), and Nice (France). In addition, it will resume its day trip service to London Heathrow Airport and increase the frequency of its flights to Shanghai (China) to operate daily.
In the case of Vancouver, the company will launch year-round connections with Guangzhou (China), while in Montreal it will inaugurate new routes to Basel (Switzerland) and Dubrovnik (Croatia), thus expanding its European network.
This deployment of new routes and expansions is part of Air Canada's long-term growth strategy, with which it expects to generate more than 1,500 additional direct jobs by 2028, as well as increase its contribution to Canada's GDP by more than 7 billion dollars annually.
Looking ahead to the summer of 2027, Air Canada expects to operate more than 125 international routes, which will mean up to 169,000 weekly seats from Canada to more than 85 international destinations spread across the Atlantic, the Pacific, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, and South America.
This schedule will represent an increase of over 8% in the seat-kilometer offer in these areas compared to the summer of 2026, consolidating the strengthening of its long-haul network.
