Corazul Cruceros has decided to postpone its commercial debut on routes through the Mediterranean with departures from Spanish ports, considering it to be a "highly saturated" market. Instead, the shipping company has opted to move its first full season to Brazil for the 2026/2027 period, as detailed in a statement.

The company, created specifically for the Spanish public, had planned to begin official operations on July 8 in the Mediterranean with the Buenavista, the first ship in its fleet, with a capacity for 2,000 passengers, which was to star in its debut.

The initial plan contemplated Barcelona as the home port, to which other embarkation points in Spain would be added, including Valencia, Tarragona, and Alicante, thus configuring a network of departures through the western Mediterranean.

However, this change in strategy responds to the detection of a "very favorable" market window in South America, where Corazul highlights an "exceptionally positive" reception from the Brazilian tourism sector and local demand indicators that "significantly exceed initial forecasts."

At the same time, and as the company emphasizes, this shift allows it to avoid a "highly saturated" European environment and changing geopolitical factors in the Mediterranean basin, by proactively reallocating its assets to regions considered to be of higher yield.

As a consequence, all departures planned for the Mediterranean in 2026 are canceled, while the configuration of itineraries and different fleet deployment alternatives for the 2027 European season are currently being analyzed.

Regarding passengers affected by this change of plans, Corazul assures that it is implementing a comprehensive customer service program, in which booking agents are contacting those with confirmed reservations individually, in order to manage their preferences.

In this way, impacted customers will be offered flexible options, including the possibility of transferring their reservations to the new itineraries through Brazil or requesting a full refund of the cruise amount paid to Corazul.
