November is one of the two months of the year in which pensioners entitled to 14 payments receive an extraordinary monthly payment. Its amount depends on the pension and the time during which the right to receive it has been generated.
Not all beneficiaries will receive a full extra payment. Those who have started to receive their pension during the semester can collect a proportional amount. In addition, pensions derived from work accidents or occupational diseases are paid in 12 monthly payments, with the extras already included.
When the extra payment of November 2026 is received
The extraordinary payment is made along with the payroll corresponding to November. The Social Security explains that pensions are paid at the end of the month, although financial entities can advance the payment.
Therefore, it is necessary to distinguish between the payment calendar of the Administration and the advance that each bank applies. The specific dates of November 2026 must be confirmed with each entity, without assuming that they will coincide with those of other months.
Who receives the full extra payment
The generation period of the extraordinary payment for November runs from June 1 to November 30, both included.
When that period has been completed, the extra payment is equivalent to one ordinary monthly payment of the pension corresponding to November. In initial recognitions or resumptions, it is calculated by sixths, according to the computable months.
How much is received if the retirement is recent
The Social Security establishes that it is enough to have one day of pension payment in a month for that month to count as one sixth of the extraordinary payment.
For a monthly pension of 1,200 gross euros, these would be examples of self-made calculations, assuming continuity in payment and without changes in amount:
| Month of commencement of economic effects | Computable months until November | Gross extra payment |
|---|---|---|
| June or earlier | 6 | 1,200 € |
| July | 5 | 1,000 € |
| August | 4 | 800 € |
| September | 3 | 600 € |
| October | 2 | 400 € |
| November | 1 | 200 € |
Source: self-made according to the accrual rules of the Social Security. Example for a pension of 1,200 gross euros per month entitled to 14 payments, without interruptions or changes in amount. Each computable month generates one sixth of the extraordinary payment; one day of pension payment is enough to compute that month. The date of recognized economic effects is taken as a reference, not the date of receipt of the resolution.
The reference is the date of recognized economic effects, which may differ from the date on which the resolution is received.
Which pensioners have prorated extras
The pensions that come from work accident or occupational disease are distributed in 12 annual payments. The amounts corresponding to the extraordinary ones are already incorporated into the ordinary monthly payments.
That is why their beneficiaries do not receive a separate extraordinary payment in November. The difference lies in the annual distribution of the payment.
