Levaduramadre, the Spanish chain specialized in bread and artisanal pastry, gives a new boost to its expansion outside of Spain with its arrival in America through the opening of its first establishment in Puerto Rico.

This opening represents the first major milestone for the company on the other side of the Atlantic and reinforces its roadmap for internationalization, which began in 2025 with its entry into Andorra, bringing its business concept to the Latin American market for the first time, as detailed by the company.

"Reaching Puerto Rico represents the most ambitious milestone within our internationalization strategy. After taking the first step last year in Andorra, crossing the pond and establishing our first point of sale in America confirms the strength of our proposal and the universal appeal of quality artisanal bread," the company's management has stated.

The new establishment is located in a strategic enclave in the city of Bayamón, the second most populated municipality in the country and one of the main economic and industrial hubs of the San Juan metropolitan area, a dynamic environment very aligned with the brand's close spirit.

Unlike the usual format of the brand in Spain, this location in Puerto Rico adopts an expanded concept designed to provide a complete gastronomic experience. It has its own workshop where all the references for the public are made daily, thus ensuring freshness and high standards of quality.

In addition to the bakery and pastry counter area, the space integrates a large café area with capacity for 40-43 customers, an additional multipurpose lounge for 10-12 people prepared to host corporate events, presentations, and social meetings, and an outdoor terrace with seating for 20-25 diners.

Regarding the product proposal, consumers will be able to purchase the most iconic items from the brand, such as its sourdough loaves, palm pastries, cookies, and muffins, along with a carefully selected range of local specialties and gourmet references adapted to the preferences of the region's public.

Levaduramadre, which has more than 165 points of sale, closed 2025 with a record turnover of 49.3 million euros, representing a 16% increase compared to the previous year, while the gross operating profit (Ebitda) advanced by 26.1%, consolidating the strength of its model.

For this exercise, the company has set out to extend the growth trajectory of recent years and achieve a turnover of 60 million euros, the launch of 60 new establishments through the different channels in which it is present, and continue to significantly increase its Ebitda.
