Octopus Energy Generation has closed the acquisition of 321 megawatts (MW) of onshore wind energy spread across 17 facilities located in France, Germany, and Poland, for a total disbursement of 584 million euros.

According to the British energy company, these projects will supply energy to more than 250,000 homes per year. Currently, Octopus Energy manages more than 400 large-scale renewable projects worldwide.

With these new operations, the company will manage 67 onshore wind farms in Europe, distributed in countries such as the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Poland, Ireland, Sweden, and Finland, among other markets.

Within the most recent transactions, the firm has incorporated 143.5 MW in France, its main renewable energy market in continental Europe. The projects are under construction and, once operational, will generate renewable electricity to supply around 65,000 homes in the country each year.

Likewise, it has added four wind farms in Germany which, together, reach a power of 102.5 MW. Two of them are already in service, producing clean energy today, while the other two are still under construction. Together, these farms generate enough green electricity for 71,000 German homes per year. This is Octopus Energy's fifteenth operation in the German country since it began operating there just a few years ago.

Additionally, it has acquired three already operational wind farms in northern Poland, with an aggregate capacity of 75 MW. These facilities produce the clean energy necessary to supply electricity to 120,000 Polish homes annually. The transaction also incorporates access to an additional portfolio of 85 MW of new renewable projects currently under development.
