The price of electricity today changes radically starting at 9:00. After a night with the kilowatt hour above 0.20 euros for several hours, the PVPC drops to 0.01964 euros/kWh between 9:00 and 10:00 and reaches its daily minimum immediately after.
The cheapest hour of electricity today
The most economical period will be from 10:00 to 11:00, when the price drops to 0.00569 euros/kWh.
It is an extraordinary difference compared to the maximum of the day. Between 21:00 and 22:00, the PVPC will reach 0.26469 euros/kWh, more than 46 times the morning minimum.
The time slot from 10:00 to 13:00 concentrates three of the best moments to shift consumption. From 11:00 to 12:00 the price will be 0.01030 euros/kWh and from 12:00 to 13:00 it will reach 0.01394 euros.
Prices will remain at very low levels for a good part of the afternoon. Between 13:00 and 18:00, the cost will stay around 0.013-0.014 euros/kWh.
The hour to avoid
The situation changes at the end of the afternoon. From 19:00 to 20:00, the price already rises to 0.1296 euros/kWh. Between 20:00 and 21:00 it reaches 0.2275 euros and between 21:00 and 22:00 it hits the maximum of 0.2647 euros.
Afterwards it will remain high: 0.2539 euros/kWh between 22:00 and 23:00 and 0.2366 euros between 23:00 and midnight. (Mundo Deportivo)
For consumers covered by the PVPC, shifting washing machines, dishwashers, water heaters, or electric recharges to the central part of the day can make a significant difference compared to doing it at night.
