Juanma Moreno (PP), María Jesús Montero (PSOE) and José Ignacio García Sánchez (Adelante Andalucía), are the candidates for the Junta de Andalucía with the greatest digital influence in the final stretch of the campaign. Next Sunday, May 17, 6,812,861 voters are called to the polls.

This is reflected in the ranking of Poder Digital, an application developed by Vinces that collects and organizes public information about the digital activity of political representatives, presenting it in the form of transparent and impartial rankings.

This index is calculated using the RIO (Regularity, Interactions, and Originality) formula, which evaluates key aspects of digital presence, such as audience size and quality, message impact, and recent activity. To do this, up to 30 publications from the last 60 days are analyzed.

Top candidates:

  1. Juanma Moreno Bonilla, president of the Junta and PP candidate
  2. María Jesús Montero, PSOE candidate
  3. José Ignacio García Sánchez, Adelante Andalucía candidate
  4. Manuel Gavira, Vox candidate
  5. José Manuel Gómez Jurado, Por Andalucía candidate

Double reading

Taking 'Poder Digital' as a reference, Moreno would be the candidate with the most impact and reach, followed by Montero. This order coincides with the possible electoral result predicted by public polls last week, where the current president of the Junta de Andalucía is close to an absolute majority. It should be remembered that the LOREG prohibits the publication of new polls in the five days prior to the vote to avoid influencing the electorate.

However, at the bottom of the ranking, the result of 'Poder Digital' does differ from that of the polls. Gavira, who occupies 4th place in this ranking, will achieve the third best result on May 17, no one doubts it. The result in the space to the left of the PSOE generates more unknowns, in which Por Andalucía could see its fourth position threatened by a rising Adelante Andalucía.

With perspective

Another reading that can be made is the influence of the candidates within the Andalusian political ecosystem. Moreno, Montero, and García Sánchez maintain leadership in the territorial ranking. However, Gavira occupies 14th place and Gómez Jurado 22nd. There are dozens of deputies, senators, and regional parliamentarians with more reach on social media than two of the aspirants to preside over the Junta.

The PP deputy in Congress Rafa Hernando, or the leader of Adelante Andalucía Teresa Rodríguez (who lacks institutional responsibilities), are figures whose digital discourse has a great impact, which contributes to reinforcing the top leaders of their parties. For their part, in Vox, the most visible and influential position is Rocío de Meer, a deputy in the Lower House.
