The General Budget Project of Extremadura (PGEx) for 2026 has started this Friday its processing in the Assembly of Extremadura. The process will culminate, if applicable, with the vote and definitive approval of the regional accounts at the end of the plenary session scheduled for July 29 and 30.
This is stated in the processing calendar of the accounts approved this Friday by the Bureau of the Assembly, which establishes for this Monday, June 1, the start of the period to register total amendments, a period that will close on June 5.
That same day, the Bureau of the Assembly will meet to qualify the total amendments that have been submitted and order the debate of the plenary session of totality, which will take place on Tuesday, June 9.
In case the accounts pass this first examination, on Wednesday, June 10 and Thursday, June 11, the appearances of the senior officials of the Junta's ministries will be held in the Finance and Budgets Committee, in order to detail the items assigned to each department.
The following day, Friday, June 12, the period for the submission of partial amendments will open, which will remain available until June 26.
The Bureau of the Assembly will meet again on Monday, July 13, to qualify these partial amendments and decide on their admission for processing. From that moment, the procedure for returning to the Junta those amendments to the articles that imply an increase in expenditure or a reduction in income will be put into motion, so that the regional executive may rule on them until Thursday, July 16.
On Friday, July 17, the Bureau of the Assembly will resolve the reconsideration appeals that have been raised, and on Tuesday, July 21, the report of the rapporteur of the Finance and Budgets Committee will be prepared.
This committee will meet again on Thursday, July 23 and Friday, July 24 for the drafting of the opinion and the reservation of amendments for their defense before the plenary. The agenda and the organization of the plenary debate will be known on Monday, July 27.
The definitive plenary session will start on Wednesday, July 29 and conclude on Thursday, July 30, the day on which the final vote on the regional accounts will proceed.
