The General Council of Pharmaceutical Colleges has shown this Wednesday its rejection of the approval in the Council of Ministers of the Draft Law of the Framework Statute due to the lack of agreement with the health professions as a whole, thus aligning itself with the position previously expressed by the Spanish Medical Colleges Organization (OMC).

In the opinion of the pharmacists, a regulation of "such magnitude and impact" on the National Health System (SNS) should have been promoted with the "necessary consensus" after months of negotiation and constructive proposals submitted by all professions.

The Council has argued that these proposals would contribute, "without a doubt," to improving the sustainability and quality of care of the health system, by facilitating more adequate conditions for the practice of hundreds of thousands of health professionals, including hospital pharmacists and clinical analysts, among others.

Therefore, it has highlighted the need for "loyal dialogue" and "effective participation of all" as conditions for developing any reform "that aspires to be stable and lasting."

In this regard, it has urged parliamentary groups to incorporate the proposals made by the different health professions during the processing in the Courts, in order to "build together the best possible Framework Statute."
