The Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP) has communicated this Thursday that an earthquake of magnitude 7.2 on the Richter scale has occurred, with its epicenter located 35 kilometers north of Coracora, in the Ayacucho region, in the south of the country.

According to the agency's details in a message published on social media, the tremor was recorded at 1:00 PM (local time) and originated at a depth of 108 kilometers.

For the moment, the authorities have not reported any fatalities or injured persons.
