At least six people have lost their lives this Wednesday and several dozen have been injured after a new series of attacks launched by the Russian Army against the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, and various regions of the country.
In Kiev, the mayor, Vitali Klitschko, has reported "powerful explosions" caused by the bombings, which have once again hit the Desnianski and Sviatoshinski districts, as happened recently. The Police have specified that three people have died and twenty others have been injured.
"Russian forces have been attacking Kiev relentlessly during the night, using drones and missiles. One of the drones hit the upper floors of a 25-story apartment building in the Desnianski district," the capital's Police reported in a statement.
In the city of Kherson, the mayor, Yaroslav Shanko, has confirmed the death of a woman after a drone hit a minibus. "Her identity is being determined by the competent services," he stated, adding that another person has been seriously injured.
Regarding Kharkiv, the governor of the region, Oleg Sinegubov, has reported the deaths of two people and 42 injured as a result of the attacks registered in the last few hours in the Nemishlianski district, according to the most recent balance sheet disseminated on his social networks.
The Ukrainian Air Force indicated in a statement that Russia fired seven missiles and nearly 169 drones against Ukrainian territory, and assured that air defense systems managed to intercept 139 of these unmanned devices.
However, it confirmed the impact of five ballistic missiles in four different points of the country and that of 20 drones in eleven other locations, in addition to the fall of debris from interceptions in another seven areas. "The attack continues, as there are numerous enemy drones in the airspace," it warned.
On the other hand, the Russian Ministry of Defense assured that the offensive on Kiev targeted "military-industrial facilities" located in the capital, insisting that it is "a response to the terrorist attacks by the Kiev regime against infrastructure in Russia."
