The Israeli Army announced this Thursday the death of a former bodyguard of the murdered leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Yahya Sinwar, in a new airstrike on the Gaza Strip, carried out despite the ceasefire agreed in October 2025 as part of the plan promoted by the United States for the future of the enclave.
In its official statement, the Israel Defense Forces identified the deceased as Razak Suhail Suleiman abú Shahama, whom they describe as a member of an elite unit of Hamas that "participated in the attack against Reim during the massacre of October 7 (2023) and worked as a bodyguard for Yahya Sinwar," who was murdered in October 2024 by Israeli forces.
Furthermore, the statement reports the death of a second target, identified as Hazem Musa, whom the Army also attributes to belonging to the Nujba unit of the armed wing of Hamas, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades. "He participated in the attack against Reim during the massacre of October 7," the Army highlighted in its message.
According to Israeli military authorities, both "recently promoted terrorist plans against the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and citizens of the State of Israel and attempted to restore the organization's capabilities, systematically violating the ceasefire," accusations on which Hamas has not yet commented.
