More than thirty people were injured in the early hours of this Thursday due to a fire that broke out in a hospital in the town of Ludwigslust, in northern Germany, according to a police statement.
The fire originated in the roof structure of the healthcare center and has left up to 34 affected, according to data provided by the police force, which has not yet been able to offer precise information on the severity of the injuries. However, a spokesperson for the officers indicated that one of the injured was being resuscitated.
The flames, which started at 4:28 AM, forced the evacuation of the building, from where both patients and healthcare personnel were evacuated. Authorities have emphasized that the situation is constantly evolving and that an exact count of the number of people evacuated is not yet available.
