The official account of Nicolás Maduro on the social network X has disseminated new photographs of the Venezuelan leader taken during his confinement in the United States, in which he is seen with an animated expression and which are presented as a "small gift of love and hope" directed, above all, to his family.
"I send these photos as a small gift to all my grandchildren, to the boys and girls, and to all the noble people who love us," states one of the messages published on the profile of the president, detained by the United States last January after a military operation in Caracas and subsequently transferred to a prison in New York, where he faces a judicial process for narco-terrorism, conspiracy to import cocaine, and possession of war weapons.
In the texts accompanying the snapshots, the Venezuelan president emphasizes: "I want you to know that we are steadfast, with our hearts full of your love, that love that reaches us transformed into prayer, into permanent action, into solidarity and true support. Infinite thanks for every word, for every gesture, for every blessing." All the photographs are dated June 25, 2026.
The message concludes with a reference to his wife and his religious beliefs: "Cilia and I embrace you forever, with our souls set on you and with faith intact in God. God will provide. Venezuela will be reborn."
