The president of Iran, Masud Pezeshkian, has urged to end as soon as possible the open conflict with the United States and Israel, which began six months ago, considering that Tehran is in a favorable position against its adversaries.
"It is better to end the war today, when we are in a position of power and dignity, and the whole world recognizes our victory," the Iranian president expressed at an event with the medical community in government premises in Tehran.
During his speech, Pezeshkian emphasized that the international community is fully aware that the United States, "against all norms," has attacked schools, hospitals, and civilian infrastructure. "It is hated in the world," he said, according to the IRNA agency.
At the same time, the leader made it clear that his call to achieve peace as soon as possible does not imply any capitulation. "We will not yield to intimidation in any way and there is no doubt that we will stand firm until our last breath and respond overwhelmingly," he warned.
These words come after the U.S. president, Donald Trump, in a new twist of his strategy towards Iran, announced the beginning of an "economic operation" that he described as a process of "isolation on an unprecedented scale."
