The Russian authorities have communicated this Thursday new progress on the ground in Ukraine after securing control of another locality in the province of Zaporiyia, partially occupied since the beginning of the offensive launched in February 2022 by order of the Russian president, Vladimir Putin.
"Units of the Eastern group of forces have liberated the locality of Shevchenkivske, in Zaporiyia," the Russian Ministry of Defense has pointed out in a brief official note, released a day after reporting the capture of Nezhenka and Pisarevka, enclaves located in the provinces of Zaporiyia and Sumi, respectively, without Kiev having commented on the matter.
In recent months, Moscow has been reporting territorial advances in eastern Ukraine, with particular intensity in Donetsk, a province that —along with Lugansk, both integrated into the Donbas region— has already been the scene since 2014 of an armed conflict between pro-Russian separatist militias and Ukrainian government forces.
